Nearly four years ago now, I began to ask myself some serious questions. We live in a rural setting and raise much of our own food. We hunt for the rest, and only purchase items that can not be procured or produced by ourselves or others within our own sphere of contact.
I am a caregiver for my parents, both past 80, who live next door (we actually live in their garage to be close). We pay utilities for them and provide all types of care. When I began to think about the possibilities of difficult circumstances coming and NOT being able to provide them with the basic need of WATER, I got real serious about rectifying that situation! We DO have electrical outages here on occasion, and those pose little threat, but in the LONG TERM, when there is no pump…there is NO WATER! We live too far from a natural water source, so hauling water is not an option.
I started checking into different types, styles, and prices of manual hand pumps. When I came across the Simple Pump system, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the product structure, the pricing was good and when I began asking for details and quotes I was DEEPLY impressed with the PEOPLE behind the product! Well, that was nearly four years ago. I earn a small wage teaching fitness (approx. $30.00/week), give concerts for Christian and Patriotic events and sell my own CDS, and take on any other odd jobs I can find.
So I began setting money aside for the pump. Last year at Christmas time, I gave my parents a framed certificate stating that their Christmas gift was going to be a manual well pump that would provide them with water no matter WHAT the emergency situation. Last month I had finally saved up enough money to purchase the pump, AND I DID! The Simple Pump system is just that — SIMPLE! I can’t thank you guys enough for your kindness and understanding and PATIENCE throughout this long haul!
We will definitely be in touch, and I will HIGHLY recommend Simple Pump to anyone and everyone! I am an advocate of preparedness and have suggested to others to consider supplementing their electric well system with a manual pump “just in case”! I feel as though NOW my parents will have the basic foundation for survival even if/when things get a whole lot tougher! Taking care of the people you love is one of the most important things you can do – and having water is such a basic necessity for an entire community! Simple Pump is the way to go! I feel as though I am doing MY part! HOW ABOUT YOU? God Bless America!
