Simple Pump’s Motor-Operated Pumps

Simple Pump’s Motor-Operated Water Pumps are built on the same Simple Pump piston rod pump system used in the hand pump models. The motor is added to the base water pump structure to provide an automated pumping system for your water well.

This design allows for unique interchangeability not offered in other water pump systems where the pump head can be quickly changed from a motor-operated pump to a hand-operated pump within a matter of minutes in the case of a power outage.

High-Quality Components

Pump Head

The Pump Head is the assembly visible above the ground. Here it is shown with the Linear Bearing Link Drive motor. Simple Pump has designed the pump head to be interchangeable with hand-operated options and motor operated options.

Drop Pipe Kit

Simple Pump utilizes drop pipe kits that attach to the pump head and can extend below the well water level.

A series of connected drop pipe kits carry water from the stainless steel pump cylinder at the bottom of the pump system to the stainless steel pump head at the top of the pump system.

Pump Cylinder

Simple Pump’s pump cylinder contains the piston that lifts the water in the pump. Simple Pump offers different cylinder options depending on your well’s static water level and the type of motor connected to the water pump system.

Motor Pump Drive Options

Linear Bearing Link Drive

The power requirements for the Linear Bearing Link Drive motor at 100-foot static water level, pumping into an ambient tank are:

12VDC

  • 16 amps peak
  • 25 amp fuse
  • 10-11 amps average draw

24VDC

  • 8 amps peak
  • 15 amp fuse
  • 5-6 amps average draw

Scotch Yoke Drive

The power requirements for the Scotch Yoke drive at 100-foot static water level, pumping into an ambient tank are:

12VDC

  • 18 amps peak
  • 25 amp fuse
  • 11-12 amps average draw

24VDC

  • 9 amps peak
  • 15 amp fuse
  • 6-7 amps average draw

Outdoor Configuration

Motor plus outdoor cabinet.

The motor choice when do not have a shelter for the motor, and you want to provide the power configuration for the motor. You can choose the LBLD24-1WR weather-resistant option outfitted with a stainless steel enclosure.

INCLUDES

  • A gasketed and lockable stainless enclosure with a 1/4HP 24VDC gear motor and a weather-resistant rocker switch
  • Cole-Hersey relay
  • Terminal block
  • 36CFM ventilation fan
  • (1) fuse holder with 15amp ATO/ATC pronged, auto-style fuse

The breadboard has the holes drilled for the PS30M Morningstar charge controller, the Intermatic timer.

YOU SUPPLY

  • All components to provide and control the power to the motor.

For example, a solar panel system would include:

  • One or two polysilicon or microcrystalline PV modules (S-Energy) @ 260 watts each, 24VDC
  • 3″x 9′ or 4″x12′ galvanized steel mounting pole or roof-mount hardware
  • Sacrete, if using a pole mount
  • (2) group 27 or (2) group 31 deep cycle lead acid or AGM batteries
  • Any power and power-control hardware, e.g. Morningstar PS30 charge controller, Intermatic FM1QTUZH-24 timer.

Indoor Configuration

Simple Pump motor: indoor model for pump house or other sheltered use.

The perfect choice when you have a shelter for the pump system, and you want to take care of all power generation and electronics.

The 105ME/GM (scotch yoke mechanism) or LBLD24-1 (link drive mechanism) replaces the lever arm mechanism with five points of connection.  Both are offered in 12VDC or 24VDC.

Motor add-on price starts at $850 depending on the exact model.

  • Shelter, e.g. a pump house or smaller enclosure that gives a similar level of protection.
  • All components to provide and control the power to the motor.
